How do you define Computer?

This blog post was done completely on my #iphone! Not on a PC or Mac or #ipad but totally on my #iphone 4S I've had since December 2011. In fact I just dictated this entire sentence using the microphone feature on the iPhone! So what! No big deal! Who cares? I used to be constantly sitting in front of my Dell PC surfing the web or getting e-mails, using #Pinterest or #Google+ or #Facebook or whatever! Now I can just lay around and use the #iphone for all that and more! It's true what the late Steve Jobs said, "People will have #iphones and #ipads instead of computers!" While nothing, in my opinion, will or can ever replace the traditional computer, there getting pretty darn close! So how about it! Will the tradition computer be a thing of the past? Or will you always have a PC/Mac in every household?

The Day after June 6

June 6, 1944 D-Day

160,000 Allied troops landed along a 50-mile stretch of heavily-fortified French coastline to fight Nazi Germany on the beaches of Normandy, France. General Dwight D. Eisenhower called the operation a crusade in which “we will accept nothing less than full victory.” More than 5,000 Ships and 13,000 aircraft supported the D-Day invasion, and by day’s end on June 6, the Allies gained a foot- hold in Normandy. The D-Day cost was high -more than 9,000 Allied Soldiers were killed or wounded -- but more than 100,000 Soldiers began the march across Europe to defeat Hitler.

BUT June 7, 2002 is a day I will never forget. On that that day I lost my mother! Having lost my father in 1983, to our family Claire was the rock. The unyielding force that held us all together. Like Mom's are, she was always there, ready to help. NOTHING phased her! She feared NOTHING!

SHE WAS A MOM!

In the last years of her life she battled intestinal bleeding that no one could ever explain, cancer which they remove 1/3 of her stomach. "Well at least I'm skinny again!' she would say! But STILL she was there, helping, nurturing, comforting all of us!

Her pride and joy, Hannah, my niece and God Daughter, gave her great pleasure! Not quite four when she passed, I'll never forget Hannah standing straight up on the limo's floor waiting for her to be carried and put into the hearse.

In the church she told my sister, "Mom don't cry. I see the Angels taking Granny to heaven!"

This post is for HER!

We all have lost loved ones.

It never get over it - we just get used to it!

I LOVE you MOM!

Alyssa Milano LIVE Tweeting from LA Kings Game

@Alyssa_milano QUEEN of #Twitter is taking over the @NHL Twitter account tonight Thursday May 17, 2012 from her season ticket seats for Thursday night’s playoff matchup between the Los Angeles Kings and Phoenix Coyotes. The game starts at 9 p.m. EST.

It’s the first time the hockey league has relinquished control of its @NHL handle to a celebrity.

Fans are encouraged to use the #AskAlyssa hashtag and the #PhxLAK.

Alyssa is well known in the world of Social Media, especially Twitter. She has over 2 Million followers and often interacts with them on a regular bases, including myself, @UBtalkin  , many times.

“You may see a celebrity on the jumbotron, but fans don’t usually get an opportunity to interact with them around hockey,” Devi Mahadevia, the league’s director of digital business development said to Mashable. “This Twitter takeover gives fans the opportunity to ask questions and talk hockey with a well known celebrity.”

We have watched Alyssa grow up in the public eye, first on the hit ABC comedy "Who's the Boss!"(1984–1992) Then in the hit TV series "Charmed" (1998-2006) and now her newly announced series to begin on ABC in 2013 "Mistresses" amongst other movie's and TV appearances.

She is married to David Bugliari @dbugliari and has a handsome son Milo.

Problems with Apple iOS 5.1.1

Quick post about #Apple #IOS upgrade 5.1.1

Apple has issued an update for their iOS operating system fixing minor bugs. available for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (3rd generation) and later, iPad (1st generation), iPad (2nd generation), iPad (3rd generation).

Here is what you will get with iOS 5.1.1 update
  • Improves reliability of using HDR option for photos taken using the Lock Screen shortcut
  • Addresses bugs that could prevent the new iPad from switching between 2G and 3G networks
  • Fixes bugs that affected AirPlay video playback in some circumstances
  • Improved reliability for syncing Safari bookmarks and Reading List
  • Fixes an issue where 'Unable to purchase' alert could be displayed after successful purchase
This update is available over-the-air for devices running on iOS 5 and above. It is a 54MB download for iPhone, and 42.5MB of iPad and 42.8MB of iPod touch.
Apple had originally introduced iOS 5 in October last year with iPhone 4S, while iOS 5.1 was released in March 2012.

BUT since the update I, and others reporting, have had some problems with Safari Google Images. I am running the #iPhone 4S. When searching in Safari on Google for images they come up but it does not swipe to see more. In addition when you touch the image it does not enlarge. It does offer a save.

This has happened to me today, but as I am writing this it has returned to normal and the problem appears to be gone.

I did some quick research to see if this problem was mine or widespread. I found it was a VERY widespread problem so much an Apple discussion board with hundreds of complaints was started all pointing to the same problem I have described above.

I would LOVE to give you a link to this but right now on the Apple discussions board you get this→

I have also heard of OTHER problems as well!!!

So as of now, STAY TUNED!

Here's the discussion Thread on the Apple Boards about Google Image

More problems have now been discovered and reported by some including Battery Life, WiFi problems. Some reporting there phones have crashed and other issues READ HERE

Let me know if any of you are have this or any other troubles with the new IOS update 5.1.1

Mariano Rivera - Could this be the END?

I LOVE Sports. All sports. Doesn't matter what kind, where it is played or by whom, I will watch it! It's an escape. An escape for the moment from the problems of our lives, the troubles, the mundain or even the happiness that we go trough day in and day out.

Days like Wednesday May 3, 2012.

We first hear of the tragic passing of Junior Seau at the age of 43 of an apparent suicide. Like the tragic suicide of Ray Easterling and Dave Duerson, all talk is pointing again to a neurodegenerative disease linked to concussions.

Then we hear the  National Football League finally lowered the boom on players it accuses of participating in a bounty system in New Orleans Saints suspending them for all or part of the 2012 season. Linebacker Jon Vilma was suspended for a year without pay, defensive end Will Smith received a four-game suspension without pay. Defensive tackle Anthony Hargrove, now with the Green Bay Packers, and linebacker Scott Fujita of the Cleveland Browns get suspensions of eight and three games, respectively, also without pay.

We then turn to the New York Rangers and Washington Capitals in Game 3 of their second-round Stanley Cup Playoffs series. A TRIPLE OVERTIME thriller, the 20th longest NHL playoff game EVER before Marian Gaborik's point-blank shot 14:41 into the third OT put the Rangers ahead. They hold a 2-1 series lead. A CLASSIC!
"I can't believe it," Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist said following a game that ended four hours 34 minutes after its first puck was dropped. "It's a feeling where, usually I scream and am so excited. I was just too tired. I was just kept saying, 'Oh, my God, it's over.' It felt like it was never going to end. It's a special feeling being a goalie and playing in overtime.

No soon as that was over at about 12:15am edt or so on Thursday word comes of Jered Weaver of the Los Angeles Angels was pitching deep into the game against the Minnesota Twins having not allowing a Hit. The last time Angels fans witnessed one at home was in 1975, with Nolan Ryan on the mound), but Weaver's accomplishment was soaked with added significance. The 29-year-old Southern California native tossed the best game of his career, against the Minnesota Twins, in front of his parents, Dave and Gail Weaver, and his wife, Kristin, who sit together for Jered's starts, 20 rows behind home plate in section 119 of Angels Stadium. Los Angeles Angels outfielder Torii Hunter caught the last out and the day was capped off with a No-Hitter.

End of a UNBELIEVABLE sports Day.

But Thursday, May 3, 2012 had its own major story as well, The great Mariano Rivera, arguably the best closer EVER in baseball in professional baseball anywhere was going through his normal workout catching BP shagged balls hit by his teammates, something, we find out, he has done for his 20 years in the game. But this night was different in Kansas City.

Mariano Rivera was tracking down a ball hit by Jayson Nix in deep center field when his right knee appeared to buckle a step before the wall. He fell to the warning track and immediately grabbed at his right knee, briefly covering his face with his glove and grimacing in pain.

Bullpen coach Mike Harkey was near Rivera when he went down, and he was the first to whistle for help. Manager Joe Girardi was watching batting practice from behind home plate and started running down, cutting across the outfield to get to his closer.

Near home plate, teammate Alex Rodriguez could be seen saying, ''Oh, my God. Oh, my God.''
Harkey and Girardi helped to carry Rivera to the cart, gently setting him into the back with his knee propped up. The cart rounded the warning track before disappearing up a tunnel.

We now find out that the 42-year-old Rivera  has a torn ACL in his right knee and will probably have surgery ending his season. Examined by the Royals associate physician Dr. Joe Noland, team physician, Dr. Vincent Key and Yankees trainers, and was sent immediately for an MRI exam at KU MedWest and results were told by Yankees manager Joe Girardi, “If that’s the report,” Yankees Manager Joe Girardi said, “if that’s what it is, that’s as bad as it gets.”

This could mean we have seen the last of Mariano as a player. He had hinted in spring training he already has made up his mind if this would be his last season and reports were he was going to leave the game at the end of this season.

If this is how it ends, how tragic and unfair, but that is the nature of sports nor life. We are just living each day and trying to do our best and sometimes what happens is fate, luck, good or bad or just the grand plan  of things.

You never know, so ALWAYS give your best and hope that is good enough!
